Terms and Conditions of the African Youth Council (AYC)

 

1. Introduction

 

These Terms and Conditions govern the membership and
activities within the African Youth Council (AYC). By joining the Council,
members agree to abide by these guidelines to maintain a respectful, inclusive,
and productive environment.

 

2. Purpose of the Council

 

The AYC aims to empower African youth by promoting advocacy,
education, and leadership development in areas such as human rights,
peacebuilding, sustainable development, and international relations.

 

3. Membership

 

            •          Eligibility: Membership is open to
individuals who meet the Council’s age, geographical, and interest
requirements, which align with the Council’s mission.

• Criteria : Membership is open to all African citizens
regardless their nationality, gender, religion, race and age .

• Age eligibility : Membership is open to individuals aged
15 to 35 who align with the Council’s mission and geographical requirements.

            •          Application Process: Prospective
members must complete an application form and submit it to the AYC Admissions
Committee for review.

            •          Acceptance and Termination: The
Council reserves the right to accept, deny, or terminate membership at its
discretion, particularly in cases of behavior that contravenes these terms.

 

4. Member Responsibilities

 

            •          Participation: Members are expected to
actively participate in Council meetings, events, and projects.

            •          Professional Conduct: Members must
behave respectfully and professionally when engaging with the Council, its
affiliates, and other members.

            •          Confidentiality: Members agree to
maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive information shared within the
Council.

 

5. Code of Conduct

 

            •          Respect and Inclusion: Discrimination
or harassment of any kind is not tolerated. Members are expected to promote a
culture of inclusivity.

            •          Integrity: Members must uphold high
standards of integrity and honesty in all Council activities.

 

6. Use of Council Resources

 

            •          Permitted Use: Members may use AYC
resources, such as official documents, branding, and digital platforms,
strictly for Council-related purposes.

            •          Prohibited Use: Members may not use
Council resources for personal profit, political campaigning, or any other
non-sanctioned activity.

 

7. Intellectual Property

 

            •          Ownership: All materials produced for
or by the AYC, including reports, publications, logos, and promotional content,
are property of the Council.

            •          Usage Rights: Members may use Council
materials with permission but may not alter or repurpose them without prior
approval.

 

8. Events and Representation

 

            •          Participation in Events: Members are
encouraged to attend AYC events, webinars, and workshops.

            •          Representation of the Council: Only
authorized members may represent AYC at external events or in communications
with third parties. Members must obtain approval before publicly affiliating
the Council with any external initiative or event.

 

9. Termination of Membership

 

            •          Resignation: Members may resign by
providing written notice to the Council.

            •          Expulsion: Membership may be
terminated if a member violates these terms, engages in conduct that harms the
Council’s reputation, or otherwise acts against the Council’s mission.

            •          Reinstatement: Former members may
reapply but are subject to review by the Admissions Committee.

 

10. Data Protection and Privacy

 

            •          Personal Data: The AYC collects and
processes members’ data in compliance with applicable privacy laws. Personal
information will only be used for Council-related activities and
communications.

            •          Data Sharing: The Council will not
share member data with third parties without explicit consent, except as
required by law.

 

11. Amendments

 

            •          Modifications: The AYC reserves the
right to modify these Terms and Conditions as necessary. Members will be
informed of any significant updates, and continued participation constitutes
acceptance of the updated terms.

African youth council is an non profit organization based in Congo and dedicated to promoting youth and committed to strengthening Youth’s participation in global stage.
